Ya as you can see from the title, this post is regarding my first day of practicum.
I would say it's an "eventful" day. The teachers there are all very approachable and friendly except my host teacher. Maybe it's too soon for me to judge my host teacher but i'm comfortable with everyone but her. Anyway she's suppose to be on leave today but came bck to get something so didn't really get to get to know her.
The rest of the teachers, hahaha, already very
gam with them already! We had lunch together when all the children are sleeping and then got one Chinese teacher was like asking if i wanna get to know his son who is of the same age as me but younger by a month and one who the rest of the teachers and principal claimed to be handsome even though he's botak now(NS) and plus got a car plus staying near me plus very good character! Hahaha does it sound like an ideal package?? Hahhaa. Don't want lah. My heart is as cold as ice already...bleh =p
I was assigned to assist the toddlers' class. They're 8 of them, all 2 yr old. Can you imagine taking care of children who can't really speak and sometimes dun even understand what you're talking, not toilet-trained and can't sit still for even 2 mintues!? They're no doubt adorable but they drain you inside out too!
Okie what did i do today which i had never done in my life?
I wiped a boy's buttock covered with SHIT,
check the "condition" of faeces,
pull their shorts to check if they've passed motion in their pampers,
touched both girls and boys' bodies from top to toe (bathing time and it's like sooooo awkward),
washed underwear and shorts which were soaked with urine,
pat 6 lil beings to sleep
I feel as if i'm prepared to be a mum!!
